About Karrie-Anne
Karrie-Anne is a UK-based visual artist working across fine art, digital media, and photography. Her work is rooted in a long-standing fascination with animals, symbolism, and the stories we attach to the natural world.
Much of her practice explores animals as more than subjects — they appear as quiet observers, protectors, gods, and messengers, inspired by mythology, folklore, and cultural storytelling. Through a blend of photographic observation and illustrative interpretation, her work aims to capture not just how an animal looks, but how it feels to encounter it.
Karrie-Anne often works in series, allowing ideas to develop over time rather than in isolation. Research, curiosity, and intuition all play a role in shaping her work, with an emphasis on mood, presence, and narrative over literal explanation.
Photography forms an important part of her creative process, influencing how she notices light, character, and small moments of connection. This way of seeing carries through into her illustrative and mixed-media pieces, helping to ground them in realism while leaving space for imagination.
Alongside her nature-led work, Karrie-Anne also creates smaller conceptual and experimental pieces — playful explorations of colour, atmosphere, and modern visual culture that sit alongside her main practice.
At the heart of her work is a simple intention: to create imagery that invites people to pause, look a little longer, and form their own quiet connection with the subject.
